I was born and raised in good old Michigan. I have been involved in art all of my life, but really got serious about it in high school. I later graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2006 and have been doing freelance illustration ever since. I have shown in several local art competitions such as Festival of the Arts, the Western Michigan Regional Competition, Celebration of the Arts, and took Honorable Mention at the Western Michigan Regional Competition one year. I also held a guest artist spot at the Flat River Gallery in 2017.

I like color, color, and more color. Pattern and texture are also very high on the list. I enjoy working in a mixed media style using layers of collaged paper, paint, pencil, and pen - all by hand, no computers. I also like to work in watercolor and acrylic.  I tend to incorporate more whimsical, outrageous subject matter into my pieces because I want people to have fun or a good laugh when they look at my work. I also enjoy making children's art as I am just a big kid myself.

Around the house I am known as "wife" and "mommy" to my husband and daughter. For fun I like to make polymer clay miniatures (mostly animals) that I turn into jewelry. I am a bookworm and tend to get really excited to go to the library (I'm a bit nerdy that way). I am a movie lover as well as a connoisseur of  fine British t.v. and cartoons from the '80s and '90s.
